There are two main uses for window blinds. The first is obviously privacy - and effective way to keep out prying eyes. However they were originally developed in ancient Egypt to block out the sun and reduce the heat coming into the buildings. These blinds were created from reeds. Vertical blinds are our favourite blinds today . If you treat your material blinds with care, they will rarely need cleaning. Yes, it's a good idea to get them dry-cleaned every few years (please check the manufacturers' instructions) but if you make sure you only move them with clean hands (not newspaper hands) then they should have a long clean, happy life.

If you look after your blinds, they should last a long long time. Just remember to follow the manuacturer's guidelines and you will get the maximum life. We have blinds all over our home because we think they add a more modern feel to our rooms and afford us privacy while keeping the light coming in. You can do the same in DH6.

If your blinds have a cord or chain with a loop, please ensure that this is out of reach of any children who may accidentally get caught up and injur themselves. Professional fitters are now obliged by law to restrict the length of cords and chains for this very reason. Don't forget to make sure you accurately measure your windows so that the blinds fit! We know it can be confusing sometimes when working with both cm and inches, and you wont be the first person to make that mistake if it happens.
