Generally the best set up for window blinds is to control them (ie open and close them) with a cord. However these days you can set them up to be electronically controlled either directly from the wall or remotely - just in case they are not easy to access. We love all blinds, but especially venetian blinds . In some houses blinds are used instead of curtains, often in loft extensions or conservatories. In a loft extension you might expect the blinds to be Velux, and in a conservatory, more likely to be Roman blinds.

Whether your venetian blinds are metal, wood, or even plastic, we really suggest you clean them every week with a vacuum brush attachment to ensure they stay as clean as possible. If you shut the slats completely you will be able to get them the cleanest. Of course if there have been mucky fingers, that will take a damp sponge to fix and then wipe them dry. Also, always check the guidelines from the manufacturer. Whatever type of blind you require, our partners can probably supply it not just to the colour and style you require, but often made to measure and delivered to DL5.

If you have children, please make sure any cords are out of reach to ensure their safety. You can never be too careful. Don't forget to make sure you accurately measure your windows so that the blinds fit! We know it can be confusing sometimes when working with both cm and inches, and you wont be the first person to make that mistake if it happens.
