Window blinds are usually closed by pulling a cord, although sometimes they can be motorised with the controls either on the wall, on a remote or sometimes even on a computer. These are more common for blinds that are hard to access. Blackout blinds will keep your room very dark . In some houses blinds are used instead of curtains, often in loft extensions or conservatories. In a loft extension you might expect the blinds to be Velux, and in a conservatory, more likely to be Roman blinds.

When cleaning your venetian blinds it is always a good idea to check the manufacturer's instructions. But we recommend that you clean them every week to avoid a serious build-up of dirt that's harder to remove. A damp cloth is usually sufficient to remove dirty finger marks (even sticky ones), and sometimes it's easier to clean them all when they are closed and flat. Whatever type of blind you require, our partners can probably supply it not just to the colour and style you require, but often made to measure and delivered to EX7.

If you have children, the safest products are cordless or those with concealed cords which allow you manually move the blind around. Tensioned cords can achieve the same effect. If you are measuring your own windows make sure that you use a metal tape as the cloth based tapes can stretch and show inaccurate results.
