There are two main uses for window blinds. The first is obviously privacy - and effective way to keep out prying eyes. However they were originally developed in ancient Egypt to block out the sun and reduce the heat coming into the buildings. These blinds were created from reeds. Vertical blinds are our favourite blinds today . In some houses blinds are used instead of curtains, often in loft extensions or conservatories. In a loft extension you might expect the blinds to be Velux, and in a conservatory, more likely to be Roman blinds.

Whether your venetian blinds are metal, wood, or even plastic, we really suggest you clean them every week with a vacuum brush attachment to ensure they stay as clean as possible. If you shut the slats completely you will be able to get them the cleanest. Of course if there have been mucky fingers, that will take a damp sponge to fix and then wipe them dry. Also, always check the guidelines from the manufacturer. Whether you are looking for venetian blinds, velux blinds, roller blinds, roman blinds or... well any type of blind... we think we can help transform your home in G7.

If you have children, the safest products are cordless or those with concealed cords which allow you manually move the blind around. Tensioned cords can achieve the same effect. Don't forget to make sure you accurately measure your windows so that the blinds fit! We know it can be confusing sometimes when working with both cm and inches, and you wont be the first person to make that mistake if it happens.
