There are two main uses for window blinds. The first is obviously privacy - and effective way to keep out prying eyes. However they were originally developed in ancient Egypt to block out the sun and reduce the heat coming into the buildings. These blinds were created from reeds. Velux blinds are stylish and high quality . In some houses blinds are used instead of curtains, often in loft extensions or conservatories. In a loft extension you might expect the blinds to be Velux, and in a conservatory, more likely to be Roman blinds.

When cleaning your venetian blinds it is always a good idea to check the manufacturer's instructions. But we recommend that you clean them every week to avoid a serious build-up of dirt that's harder to remove. A damp cloth is usually sufficient to remove dirty finger marks (even sticky ones), and sometimes it's easier to clean them all when they are closed and flat. Whether you are looking for venetian blinds, velux blinds, roller blinds, roman blinds or... well any type of blind... we think we can help transform your home in PH1.

If you have children, the safest products are cordless or those with concealed cords which allow you manually move the blind around. Tensioned cords can achieve the same effect. Don't forget to make sure you accurately measure your windows so that the blinds fit! We know it can be confusing sometimes when working with both cm and inches, and you wont be the first person to make that mistake if it happens.
