There are two main uses for window blinds. The first is obviously privacy - and effective way to keep out prying eyes. However they were originally developed in ancient Egypt to block out the sun and reduce the heat coming into the buildings. These blinds were created from reeds. We love all blinds, but especially venetian blinds . In some houses blinds are used instead of curtains, often in loft extensions or conservatories. In a loft extension you might expect the blinds to be Velux, and in a conservatory, more likely to be Roman blinds.

When cleaning your venetian blinds it is always a good idea to check the manufacturer's instructions. But we recommend that you clean them every week to avoid a serious build-up of dirt that's harder to remove. A damp cloth is usually sufficient to remove dirty finger marks (even sticky ones), and sometimes it's easier to clean them all when they are closed and flat. Finally, remember that blinds are quick and easy to replace if you fancy a change to your home in Tarbert.

If you have children, please make sure any cords are out of reach to ensure their safety. You can never be too careful. When you measure your windows please consider whether you need the blinds to sit over the whole frame or within the recess.
